Dickie,
It was an honour working with you and even more so to call you a friend. We worked in the same team for 5 years and there are too many funny stories to tell! I will never forgot the laughs we had and how you always cheered everyone up with your sense of humour!
I will never forgot some of our disastrous site visits together, especially when attempting to undertake surveys. Our planning was not the best but we always managed to finish the to job in the end!
You will be missed!

Ernie Rowlands was one of the first people I worked with in a previous incarnation with Southern Water and I wasn't expecting to hear of son Dickie's passing. A sad loss for family and friends and for the EA.

Dickie was one of the few people who had been in the EA even longer than me - I can still remember the old Romsey depot with the deckchairs and the ice creams and his wonderful smile, laugh and sense of humour. Working at the EA was a real family affair and I fondly remember Ernie too - didn't he read the raingauge at Otterbourne for years? When working alongside Jules in the H&T team I began to wonder how many more Rowlands there would be at work!
I think the last time I saw Dickie was on a recent trip to the Chichester office - I got the usual beaming smile and a comment about how we were both still at the EA. I hadn't seen him so much in recent years but know that he leaves a big hole in the EA - so many others also enjoyed his company and work was a better place for having him around. So sorry he is gone too soon.
