I visited my mum last week in Brockenhurst and saw this lovely bit of work you did a long time ago. This swinging gate alows debris to pass down the river but stops the horses, cattle, donkeys etc getting up the watercourse. It's small beer compared to the famous (in the EA) Dickie's Folly structure on the River Test upstream of Romsey. You have had an impact all across our area in terms of flood risk, but also on each of us, it has been such a pleasure working with you over the last 20 years. We're going to really miss you Dickie, a tragedy for all of us and of course, especially your family.
